23. National Quotas

(from "Chairman's Report of the Seventeenth Meeting")

The countries party to the Arrangements for the Regulation of Antarctic Whaling of 1962, represented by their Commissioners, met together before and during the Seventeenth Meeting to discuss proposals for the allocation of national quotas but had not been able to conclude these discussions by the end of the meeting. To these countries the Commission recommended that for the 1966/67 and 1967/68 seasons they take into consideration the catches of Antarctic whales from land stations situated south of 40° South Latitude as well as in other areas of the Southern Hemisphere.
