6. Scientific Investigations

The Scientific Committee met during the week before the Commission's meeting but was unable to elect a Chairman. However, Doctor D.G. Chapman (U.S.A.) agreed to act as Rapporteur so that relevant comments and recommendations from this Committee could be put forward. A number of these are embodied in the succeeding paragraphs of this report. During the meeting of the Commission Dr. Chapman was elected Chairman of the Scientific Committee. The proceedings of the Scientific Committee are set out in Appendix IV.
