7. Stock Assessments

An offer from the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of
the United Nations that, provided adequate conservation plans were in train,
he would help in a co-operative programme of stock assessment in connection
with Antarctic and other whales, was discussed.
On a proposal of the Commissioner for Australia seconded by the Commissioners
for Canada and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics the Commission agreed
that the Secretary should be asked to resume arrangements with F.A.O. similar
to those intended prior to the Sixteenth Meeting.
