16. Blue Whale Unit

The Scientific Committee reaffirmed its opinion that from the viewpoint of
maintaining all stocks, it was desirable to set separate quotas by species
for the Antarctic catch rather than in terms of blue whale units.
The Technical Committee did not recommend any action in regard to the
Schedule but felt the Commission should keep a watchful eye on the situation.
