30. Resignation of Chairman

(from "Chairman's Report of the Twenty-Fourth Meeting")

Professor J.L. McHugh announced his resignation as Chairman consequent upon his intention to resign as Commissioner for the United States. He explained that in the United States it was customary for one representative on such bodies as the Commission to be an employee of the Federal Government, and since he was no longer in that position it was appropriate that he should resign. General regret was expressed at the necessity for Professor McHugh's resignation before the completion of his term of office. The Vice-Chairman, Mr I. Rindal, the Commissioner for Norway was elected Chairman and Mr C.G. Setter, the Commissioner for Australia was elected Vice-Chairman.
