18. The International Convention on Trade in Endangered Species of Wild
Flora and Fauna
(from "Chairman's Report of the Twenty-Fifth Meeting")
The possibility was raised in the Technical Committee of conflict between
decisions taken by the Commission on the taking of certain species of whales
and action taken under the provisions of this convention on the capture of
whales or trading in the products of such whales.
It was suggested that it might be desirable for Commissioners to notify their
Governments before ratification of the Convention that problems might arise in
case the Governments concerned may wish to make some reservation at the time
of ratification.
