In accordance with Article VIII of International Convention for the Regulation of Whaling , whales taken by the scientific whaling are processed and products are sold in the market. Income is used to cover next year's research expenditure. While lethal researches of wildlife are done in many countries including anti-whaling countries, they oppose the case for research whaling due to emotional reason. Their allegation that necessary data can be obtained only by non-lethal research is far from reality , and sometimes funny .
